Ion core structure in (N2O)n(+) (n = 2-8) studied by infrared photodissociation spectroscopy.
IR photodissociation (IRPD) spectra of (N(2)O)(2)(+) x Ar and (N(2)O)(n)(+) with n=3-8 are measured in the 1000-2300 cm(-1) region. The (N(2)O)(2)(+) x Ar ion shows an IRPD band at 1154 cm(-1), which can be assigned to the out-of-phase combination of the nu(1) vibrations of the N(2)O components in the N(4)O(2)(+) ion; the positive charge is delocalized over the two N(2)O molecules. The geometry...

The infrared photodissociation spectra of [(CO2)n(H2O)m] (n = 1–4, m = 1, 2) are measured in the 3000–3800 cm range. The [(CO2)n(H2O)1] spectra are characterized by a sharp band around 3570 cm except for n = 1; [(CO2)1(H2O)1] does not photodissociate in the spectral range studied. The [(CO2)n(H2O)2] (n = 1, 2) species have similar spectral features with a broad band at ≈3340 cm. A drastic chang...

Hydrogen-bonds structure in poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) studied by temperature-dependent infrared spectroscopy
Hydrogen-bonds structure in poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) were investigated by means of temperature-dependent infrared (IR) spectroscopy. Spectral variations involved with the OH…OH and C=O…HO types of hydrogen-bonds were found around the glass transition temperature of 80°C. Hydrogen-bonds among the hydroxyl groups gradually dissociate with increasing temperature. In contrast, disc...
